Elder Abuse is an important Public Health Concern. This type of violence constitutes a violation of human rights, and loss of Dignity and Respect for our seniors.
67% of our seniors are being abused, and the average number of elderly abuse cases each year is 2,150,000. 1 in 10 seniors experience abuse each month.
The statistics of reported Elder Abuse is: Neglect 59%, Physical 16%, Financial Exploitation 12%, Emotional 7%, and Sexual 4%, with 90% of abusers being.
